Why do we treat lips with fillers?
Some people have been blessed with genetically plump lips. Then there are individuals who are born with naturally thin lips, and others who lose volume and get wrinkles around the lips with age (we lose 50% of our lip volume by the age of 50). Fortunately, treatment with lip fillers is an option for those who want to add volume, moisture and definition to the lips and restore their youthful fullness. Lip fillers are one of the most popular and sought-after treatments in the industry, largely due to celebrities such as Angelina Jolie and Kylie Jenner.
How do we treat lips with fillers?
The lips are prepared before treatment with anesthetic for maximum comfort. The lip area is then injected with a soft gel-like filler to add fullness, tackle ‘smoke lines’, puckered lips and to highlight the cupid’s bow (V-shaped top of the upper lip).
There are two options for treatment with lip fillers:
Shaping – Thin linear strokes of soft filler are placed superficially over the “vermillion border” surrounding the lips. The technique is perfect for those who want to create or improve the shape of the lips with natural results.
Volumization – Involves placing filler deeper and more centrally in the lip to create volume and plumpness. In our Lip Masterclass, additional injection techniques are used in combination to create, for example, heart-shaped lips with both shape and volume.
The result is seen immediately, albeit slightly swollen and lasts 6-12 months depending on the individual. Models at Derma Medical can expect the same high quality of products and results as in salons/clinics, but at the same time save over 50% on the treatment price.
For those with a medical background who wish to learn how to perform the treatment, check out our Combined Package or our Confident Injector Training Program for more information.
As these treatments are performed for educational purposes, we only accept models who have not had any lip filler treatment in the last 6 months.
